Comm Games Rehearsal
I just copied this from myspace (for those who have read myspace don't read this again) my blog is really rushed so it may not make sense
Well on the 10th of March 2006, I went to the Commonwealth Games 1st Rehearsal....and boy was it good. Well I got 2 free tickets and I invited good old dad....we drove to Heidelberg station and left the car there, then we caught the train to Jolimont station....and guess who i saw....a librarian from balwyn high....she's one of the tall ones with grayish hair and sorta wide...anyways....the ticket said it started at 7:30 but the gates open at 5:30 so we aimed to come abit before 5:30 in which we did and we got there and we lined up...dw there are heaps of lines...not one huge one...and they opened the gates at about 6pm actually...and wait there was a sign which tells u abit about conditions of entry....you know....ifu have TORN PAPER in your bag....you cannot go in....i was like WTF ....and the usual...fireworks, skates etc...but TORN PAPER i just don't get....well after we had to clear our pockets in put our belongings in this small tray...and a security guy checked our bags and the trays....and pretty THOUROUGHLY so watch out and you go through a detector incase u have a bomb. then me and my dad rushed to gate 2 cos that's wot our tickets said....and we were one of the firsts....so we rushed to like row 12 groud floor the best seats in the house....apparently we were in the members stand...like usuallly at the MCG and the seats were pretty cool...um..people going to the ceremony...bring a JACKET AND LONG PANTS....luckily i did cos it was cold at night...um...you can bring food or buy it....if ur willing to pay 7 bucks for a burger....the pies are reasonable....2 pies $7.60 or that's 1 for $3.80 and u don't need to pay for sauce. the actual rehearsal didn't start untill 8.30pm and it finished at about 10:30...they didn't do the whole thing....cos they wanted to keep some spectacular things secret and to shorten it abit....um...oh oh oh there's a band that plays during the calling out of the different countries...and it's a band that we'll know...aussie band...um....there's this cool rope thing.....well the whole stadium is filled with all this techinical things....and the lights are soooo cool.....sooo colourful....me and my dad had seats there were like on the left side of the podium where they light baton thingy....if watching on tv it's on the left...it's all quite spectacular...and there's something where a country that i love is in the games...welll um...10/10 for me....cos i got to see it up close and all....see ya
